This watch has already been released for quite some time and was first produced around March this year by SM Factory. When SM first released its promotional posters, I was actually quite expect it, because many people had been asking whether a super clone version of this model would ever come out.
However, after the watch was launched, it didn’t really make much of an impact in the market, and it also didn’t turn out to be as impressive as the factory had promoted.
The watch comes with a box, with some accessories inside, including one extra band. The case is made with real ceramic, but not like the ceramic case on other Omega moon watch I have seen, the ceramic case on this one is not high-polish, it looks slightly grey. Seeing from sides, the finishing of the case lines is excellent. I think these two are the biggest selling points on this watch, beautiful package and excellent case shape.
The watch was made by some other factory before, but the case made out was too thick, this one from SM Factory has a case whose thickness is around 14.5mm. However, to achieve such a thin case, some function has been sacrificed on the watch. For example, on the dial of genuine watch, the subdial at 6 is a 12-hour chronograph counter, but on this replica by SM, it is another small hour hand that displays the hour time like the central big hour hand. Actually the factory can fix this small hand at 12, so that this flaw will not be too noticeable.
The replica watch is powered by a handwound movement based on ST19. The genuine watch is equipped with an Omega 3869. We can see the obvious differences between the genuine and fake. On the replica watch, the movement plates look too bright. By the way, the watch has a weight of about 105 grams.
